‘I Don’t Care’ Says Daniel Craig When Asked Who The Next 007 Would Be!

When asked about who he’d like to see as the next James Bond, Daniel Craig’s response was simple: “I don’t care.” The British actor, who redefined Bond over five films, has officially moved on from the role—and he’s leaving the question of his successor to the audience and producers.

Craig’s comment came during a lighthearted moment while promoting his upcoming film Queer alongside co-star Drew Starkey. The duo was playing a game with Variety to test how well they knew each other when the subject of Bond films came up.

When asked how many Bond films Craig had starred in, he joked, “You’re asking me that? I have to write the answer?” He laughed when Starkey responded with “too many”, then went on to tally his Bond films—Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time to Die—correctly answering five.

But the real laugh came when Craig was asked who he thought should step into Bond’s shoes next. Without hesitation, he responded with, “I don’t care,” playfully doodling on his board.

Craig’s exit from the role has sparked a frenzy of speculation over who will be the next 007. Names like Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Richard Madden, and Regé-Jean Page have all been floated, while Aaron Taylor-Johnson is rumoured to be the current frontrunner. Despite the excitement, EON Productions has not yet confirmed who will take up the Bond mantle.

As Craig moves on to new roles, his detachment from the question of Bond’s future emphasizes his readiness to embrace the next chapter of his career. For Bond fans, though, the suspense of who will succeed him carries on—whether or not Craig cares.
