This YouTuber from Kerala has unboxed a brand new Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max underwater! The adventurous unboxing is now gathering much public attention and mixed reactions from netizens. The video has had over 302K views so far. The influencer unboxed the new iPhone while on a scuba diving session.

Karthik Surya is an influencer and content creator from Kerala, with over 1.1 Mn followers on Instagram and 2.77 Mn subscribers on YouTube. He bought his iPhone 16 Pro Max on September 20, and unboxed it the very next day.

He chose the desert titanium colour for his new iPhone. The man says he wanted to do something extraordinary, unlike the usual unboxing videos. This desire has made him unbox the phone underwater.

He seems to have been inspired by the unboxing videos filmed in swimming pools. Kartik, however, took it to the next level. He had plans to do the scuba in sea, but due to harsh weather, he had to shift to a local freshwater body in a quarry in Trivandrum, the state capital.

Equipped with scuba gear, Karthik descended to a depth of 10 meters underwater. The video shows what happened underwater. Karthik tries to open the box, which is already drenched and is soon torn off to his dismay. He struggles to peel off the sticker from the screen. He says he doubted if he would be able to peel it off.

It, however, came off with some effort. Karthik then switches the phone on. The video shows the screen light up with the signature ‘Hello’. The charging cable and other content of the box are also shown in the video.

Later in time, the Youtuber posted another video confirming that the iPhone is still working perfectly, much to the delight of his fans and followers. This video demonstrates the phone’s resilience, further validating the effectiveness of its IP68 rating. Karthik’s underwater video has set a new benchmark in the tech unboxing space.

What’s New On The iPhone 16 Pro Max?

The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max come with a Titanium frame instead of the stainless steel used in 15 Pro models. The A18 chipset and total camera control are the most notable features. The A18 has brought a remarkable improvement in performance, efficiency, and AI capabilities and offers a better battery life, especially in the Pro Max.

The video playback time is 22 hours for the standard, 27 hours for plus, and up to 33 hours for the Pro Max. The 16 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display, which is a tad larger than the predecessor’s. Total camera control helps with easy access to the camera and its settings, the most exciting feature being the 4K 120fps video recording.
